- 1 pound ziti pasta
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, dried oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Form into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix cooked ziti, marinara sauce, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
- Transfer the ziti mixture to a greased baking dish. Nestle the meatballs on top of the ziti.
- Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheese over the dish.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
- Add chopped fresh basil or parsley for garnish.
- For a spicier version, include red pepper flakes in the meatball mixture.
