- 1 cup ripe bananas, mashed (about 2–3 medium bananas)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir until well blended.
- Add the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer taste, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
- Add nuts for extra texture.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert.
