Delicious banana donuts topped with a rich salted caramel glaze.

- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well blended.
- Add the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fill each donut cavity in the pan about halfway with batter.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, dip the tops of the donuts in salted caramel sauce to coat.
Notes
- For a spiced variation, add 1/2 tsp of cinnamon to the dry ingredients.
- You can use a piping bag to fill the donut pan for a neater application.
- For presentation, drizzle additional caramel sauce over the donuts before serving.
