- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, thyme, and oregano.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Spread ketchup evenly over the top of the loaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes.
- Experiment with different herbs based on your preference.
- Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans for a complete meal.
