Instructions
- Rinse the Arborio rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, milk, sugar, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently.
- Reduce heat to low and cook for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the mixture thickens.
- Stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, and raisins if using.
- Remove from heat and let it cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm or chilled, garnished with additional cinnamon or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, you can substitute half of the milk with heavy cream.
- Experiment with different flavorings like almond extract or citrus zest for variations.
- Top with fresh fruit or a drizzle of caramel sauce for presentation.
