A classic chicken philly cheesesteak made with tender chicken, melted cheese, and sautéed vegetables on a hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced chicken, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add onions and bell peppers to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and place cheese slices on top of the chicken and vegetables. Cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  5. Slice hoagie rolls and toast them lightly if desired.
  6. Assemble the cheesesteaks by filling the rolls with chicken, vegetables, and melted cheese.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños.
  • You can substitute chicken with beef or turkey.
