Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  2. Add chicken cubes to the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  3. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers.
  5. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. In a small saucepan, heat the remaining marinade. Mix cornstarch and water, then add to the saucepan. Cook until thickened.
  8. Brush the thickened sauce over the skewers before serving.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
