Description

Ingredients

  • 75g granulated sugar
  • 10g salt
  • 10g instant yeast
  • 250ml warm milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 250g unsalted butter, softened
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp water)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk and eggs. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Incorporate softened butter gradually until fully absorbed.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, about 1 cm thick.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped chocolate evenly over the dough.
  8. Fold the dough into thirds, like a letter, and roll it out again.
  9. Cut the dough into triangles and roll each triangle into a cruffin shape.
  10. Place cruffins in a muffin tin and let them proof for 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  12. Brush the cruffins with egg wash and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
