Ingredients

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar and cocoa powder.
  2. Add heavy cream and butter to the saucepan.
  3. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Once boiling, stop stirring and let it boil for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and nuts.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 8-inch square pan.
  7. Let it cool at room temperature for at least 2 hours.
  8. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
  • Experiment with different nuts or add a pinch of sea salt for contrast.
  • Store fudge in an airtight container for up to two weeks.
