Ingredients

- 1/4 oz cinnamon syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 orange peel
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Chill a rocks glass by filling it with ice water.
- In a mixing glass, combine bourbon, cinnamon syrup, and bitters.
- Add ice to the mixing glass and stir until well chilled.
- Empty the chilled rocks glass and strain the mixture into it over fresh ice.
- Garnish with an expressed orange peel and a cinnamon stick.
Notes
- To make cinnamon syrup, simmer equal parts sugar and water with cinnamon sticks until dissolved, then cool.
- For a smokier flavor, consider using a smoked bourbon.
