- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- In a bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off.
- Dredge chicken in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken in batches until golden brown, about 7-8 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add cayenne pepper to the flour mixture.
- Serve with lemon wedges for a fresh contrast.
