Description
Crispy and golden french fries made in an air fryer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch sticks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
- Drain and thoroughly dry the potatoes using a clean kitchen towel.
- In a large bowl, toss the potatoes with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
- Check for doneness; they should be golden and crispy. Cook for an additional 2-5 minutes if needed.
- Remove and serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauces.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, consider double frying the potatoes.
- Experiment with different seasonings such as parmesan cheese or herbs.
- Serve with aioli or ketchup for a gourmet touch.
