Description

Crispy and golden french fries made in an air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/4 inch sticks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Soak the cut potatoes in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  2. Drain and thoroughly dry the potatoes using a clean kitchen towel.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the potatoes with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  5. Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd.
  6. Cook for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking.
  7. Check for doneness; they should be golden and crispy. Cook for an additional 2-5 minutes if needed.
  8. Remove and serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauces.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, consider double frying the potatoes.
  • Experiment with different seasonings such as parmesan cheese or herbs.
  • Serve with aioli or ketchup for a gourmet touch.
