Ingredients

  • 1 package of frozen pierogi (16 oz)
  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Layer half of the frozen pierogi in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. Add half of the kielbasa and half of the onion on top.
  3. Sprinkle half of the cheese over the layers.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogi, kielbasa, onion, and cheese.
  5. In a bowl, mix chicken broth, sour cream, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the mixture over the layered ingredients in the crockpot.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  8. Once done, stir gently and let it sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute kielbasa with sautéed mushrooms.
  • Try adding sauerkraut for extra tanginess.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
