- 200g dark chocolate (70% cocoa), chopped
- 100g unsalted butter
- 150g granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 50g all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Grease and line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the sugar and eggs until pale and frothy.
- Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
- Sift the flour and salt over the mixture and gently fold to combine.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is slightly soft.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

- For a richer flavor, use chocolate with a higher cocoa content.
- Consider adding a pinch of espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor.
