- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- Pickles, to taste
- Ketchup, to taste
- Mayo, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Form the ground beef into four equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center.
- Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper.
- Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side.
- Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on each. Cook for another 4 minutes or until the cheese melts.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
- Assemble the burgers with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, and mayo.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, add a few drops of liquid smoke to the beef before forming patties.
