- 1 medium head of cabbage, sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated cheese (Cheddar or Gruyere)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
- Add sliced cabbage and blanch for 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg. Cook until the sauce thickens.
- In a greased baking dish, layer cabbage and sauce. Sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
