Description

Eggnog cookies are a festive treat that combines the flavors of traditional eggnog with a soft, chewy cookie texture.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and eggnog until combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  7. Fold in the white chocolate chips and walnuts, if using.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • For a spiced variation, add cloves or ginger.
  • Top with a dusting of powdered sugar for presentation.
