Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a piping bag or squeeze bottle, carefully drizzle the batter into the hot oil in spiral shapes.
- Fry until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For variations, try adding cocoa powder for a chocolate flavor.
- You can also top with fruit or chocolate sauce.
