Ingredients

  • 8 oz ribeye steak
  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the ribeye steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the steak.
  3. Cook the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium rare.
  4. Remove steak from skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Slice the steak thinly against the grain.
  6. Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  7. Place one slice of bread butter-side down in the skillet.
  8. Add one slice of cheddar cheese, followed by the sliced steak, and top with the second slice of cheese.
  9. Cover with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  10. Cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook the other side until golden and cheese is melted.
