- 3 lbs of whole turkey
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups of bread crumbs
- 1 cup of chopped onions
- 1 cup of chopped celery
- 2 tsp of dried sage
- 1 tsp of dried thyme
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups of assorted vegetables (carrots, Brussels sprouts, and green beans)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- In a large bowl, combine bread crumbs, onions, celery, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Melt half of the butter and add to the bread mixture. Stir in chicken broth until moist.
- Stuff the turkey with the bread mixture and truss the legs.
- Rub the remaining butter over the turkey and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a pan and roast for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- During the last hour, add assorted vegetables around the turkey.
- Check the turkey’s internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.

- Use a meat thermometer for accuracy.
- Consider brining the turkey for added moisture.
