Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut out shapes using cookie cutters and arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
- Let cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
- For the icing, whisk together confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth.
- Decorate the cooled cookies with icing and sprinkles.
