- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Fresh basil leaves
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone inside.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide into two equal portions.
- Roll out one portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, followed by fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan.
- Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated stone in the oven.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve.
Notes
- Use high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
- Experiment with different toppings like prosciutto or arugula.
- For a crispier crust, pre-bake the crust for 5 minutes before adding toppings.
