Ingredients

- 1 lb penne pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Add marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, marinara sauce, ricotta, and half of the mozzarella. Mix well.
- Season with salt, pepper, and chopped basil.
- Transfer mixture to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, use vegetables like zucchini or spinach.
- Can substitute penne with rigatoni or fusilli.
- Consider adding cooked Italian sausage for added flavor.
