Description

A savory and spicy twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich featuring jalapenos and crispy bacon.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 4 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces of pepper jack cheese, shredded
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon, chopped
  • 2 fresh jalapenos, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. Layer cheddar and pepper jack cheese on the unbuttered side of two slices.
  4. Add chopped bacon and sliced jalapenos on top of the cheese.
  5. Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.
  6. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove from heat, slice, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra heat, include pickled jalapenos.
  • You can substitute the bread with any type preferred.
