Description

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent.
  4. Add minced garlic, ground beef, and Italian sausage. Cook until browned.
  5. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  7. In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  8. Top with remaining meat sauce and mozzarella. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  10. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
