- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 15 ounces ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent.
- Add minced garlic, ground beef, and Italian sausage. Cook until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
- In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers.
- Top with remaining meat sauce and mozzarella. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
