- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Lay each noodle flat and spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the cheese mixture onto each noodle.
- Roll the noodles tightly and place them seam-side down in the baking dish.
- Pour remaining marinara sauce over the rolled noodles and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Try adding sautéed spinach or mushrooms to the cheese filling for added flavor.
- For a meat variation, incorporate cooked ground beef or sausage into the cheese mixture.
