Ingredients

- 400g spaghetti
- 800g canned tomatoes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 50ml olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Boil water in a large pot and add salt.
- Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add canned tomatoes, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Drain spaghetti and add to the sauce. Toss to combine.
- Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- For a spicy version, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Use fresh tomatoes when in season for better flavor.
- Experiment with different pasta shapes for variety.
