Ingredients

- 2 cups masa harina
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded cheese (queso Oaxaca or mozzarella)
- 1 cup cooked and shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup salsa verde
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine masa harina, warm water, and salt. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Divide the dough into equal portions and flatten each into a disc.
- Place cheese and chicken in the center of each disc, fold over, and seal the edges.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Fry each stuffed disc until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve with salsa verde on the side.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken with beef or vegetables for variation.
- For a spicy kick, add jalapeños to the filling.
- Plating can be enhanced by garnishing with fresh cilantro.
