Ingredients

  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 lime, cut into 4 wedges
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar, or to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 1/2 ounces white rum
  • 1/2 cup soda water

Instructions

  1. Muddle mint leaves and 1 lime wedge in a sturdy glass to release mint oils.
  2. Add 2 more lime wedges and sugar, muddle again to release lime juice.
  3. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  4. Pour rum over the ice.
  5. Top with soda water and stir well.
  6. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge and mint sprig.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by varying the sugar amount.
  • For a stronger mint flavor, gently bruise the mint leaves.
