- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- Zest of 2 oranges
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups heavy cream
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- Orange slices for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, orange extract, and orange zest.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
- For the frosting, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Once the cakes are cool, spread frosting between the layers and on top and sides of the cake.
- Garnish with orange slices before serving.
