- 300g pasta of your choice
- 500g beef, diced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, grated for serving
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the diced beef and sear until browned on all sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add onion and garlic. Sauté until onion is translucent.
- Add the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Return the beef to the skillet and simmer for 20 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
- Toss the cooked pasta with the beef sauce until well coated.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
Notes
- For a richer sauce, add a splash of red wine while cooking the beef.
- You can substitute ground beef for diced beef for a different texture.
