Ingredients

  • 200g of pasta (spaghetti or your choice)
  • 50g of olive oil
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 200g of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 100g of fresh basil, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, following package instructions.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Add halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook until they soften, about 5 minutes.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve some pasta water and drain the rest.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the tomatoes and garlic.
  7. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a sauce.
  8. Stir in chopped basil and season with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute cherry tomatoes with sun-dried tomatoes for a different flavor profile.
  • For a protein option, consider adding grilled chicken or shrimp.
