Ingredients

- 500g all-purpose flour
- 325ml warm water
- 10g active dry yeast
- 10g sugar
- 10g salt
- 30ml olive oil
- 200g tomato sauce
- 300g mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 150g pepperoni slices
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Activate the yeast: Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
- Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil into the well. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F) with a pizza stone inside.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled dough onto a pizza peel or baking sheet.
- Spread tomato sauce evenly on the dough.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
- Arrange pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
- Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños.
- Experiment with different cheeses like provolone or cheddar.
- Try a blend of herbs in the sauce for added flavor.
