Ingredients

  • 325ml warm water
  • 10g active dry yeast
  • 10g sugar
  • 10g salt
  • 30ml olive oil
  • 200g tomato sauce
  • 300g mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 150g pepperoni slices
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
  3. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil into the well. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F) with a pizza stone inside.
  7. Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  8. Transfer the rolled dough onto a pizza peel or baking sheet.
  9. Spread tomato sauce evenly on the dough.
  10. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  11. Arrange pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
  12. Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone.
  13. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  14. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
