A delicious fusion of sloppy joe and grilled cheese, this dish combines savory ground beef with melted cheese between crispy bread.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp mustard
- 8 slices of bread
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 tbsp butter
Instructions
- In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
- Add onion and green bell pepper. Cook until softened.
- Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and mustard. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice, buttered side down, on the skillet. Layer with cheese and sloppy joe mixture.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Grill until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted.
Notes
- For a spicy variation, add jalapeños to the sloppy joe mixture.
- Use different types of cheese like pepper jack or mozzarella.
- Serve with pickles for added crunch.
