A rich and creamy slow cooker butter chicken with aromatic spices.
Ingredients

- 2 lbs chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Heat butter in a pan and sauté the onion until translucent.
- Add garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.
- Stir in garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and cayenne pepper.
- Add tomato puree and bring to a simmer.
- Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker.
- Add chicken thighs and season with salt.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Stir in heavy cream 30 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, increase cayenne pepper.
- Serve with basmati rice or naan for a complete meal.
- Can substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts.
