Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat butter in a pan and sauté the onion until translucent.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.
  3. Stir in garam masala, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Add tomato puree and bring to a simmer.
  5. Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker.
  6. Add chicken thighs and season with salt.
  7. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
  8. Stir in heavy cream 30 minutes before serving.
  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, increase cayenne pepper.
  • Serve with basmati rice or naan for a complete meal.
  • Can substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts.
