Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g bread flour
  • 350ml water
  • 100g active sourdough starter
  • 10g salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the active sourdough starter with water until fully dissolved.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl.
  6. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour at room temperature.
  7. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F) with a Dutch oven inside.
  8. Once risen, carefully remove the Dutch oven and place the dough inside. Make a few slashes on top for steam to escape.
  9. Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
