A quick and easy sourdough recipe that requires no waiting time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g bread flour
- 350ml water
- 100g active sourdough starter
- 10g salt
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix the active sourdough starter with water until fully dissolved.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl.
- Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour at room temperature.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F) with a Dutch oven inside.
- Once risen, carefully remove the Dutch oven and place the dough inside. Make a few slashes on top for steam to escape.
- Cover and bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
Notes
- For a more flavorful bread, use a whole wheat flour blend.
- Experiment with adding herbs or spices for different flavor profiles.
- Serve with a variety of dips or spreads for an attractive platter.
