A classic Italian dish featuring spaghetti paired with savory meatballs in marinara sauce.
Ingredients
- Spaghetti – 400 grams
- Ground beef – 500 grams
- Breadcrumbs – 100 grams
- Parmesan cheese – 50 grams, grated
- Egg – 1 large
- Garlic – 3 cloves, minced
- Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
- Fresh parsley – 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt – to taste
- Pepper – to taste
- Olive oil – for frying
- Marinara sauce – 500 ml
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, onion, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined and form into meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
- Once browned, remove meatballs and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Return meatballs to the sauce and cook for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain spaghetti and plate, topping with meatballs and sauce.
- Garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- Use ground pork or turkey for a different flavor profile.
- Serve with garlic bread for a complete meal.
