Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract and Nutella until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, and mix until just combined.
- Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a pinch of sea salt to the frosting.
- Top with whipped cream or chocolate ganache for a decorative finish.
