  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • 2 cups bread cubes (stale preferred)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 1 cup cranberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Prepare the turkey by patting it dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, and sage.
  4. Rub the herb butter mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  5. In a skillet, sauté the onion and celery until soft. Combine with bread cubes and chicken broth to make stuffing.
  6. Stuff the turkey cavity with the bread mixture, securing with kitchen twine.
  7. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover loosely with foil.
  8. Roast the turkey for about 3 to 3.5 hours, removing the foil for the last hour to brown the skin.
  9. While the turkey roasts, prepare the cranberry sauce by combining cranberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan. Cook until berries burst.
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
