Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté until garlic is fragrant but not browned.
  4. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the garlic butter.
  6. If the pasta is dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  7. Stir in Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan and parsley if desired.
