Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add molasses and egg, mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
- Roll the dough into balls and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until cookies are firm.
- Allow to cool before decorating.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can last up to a week.
- Feel free to add icing for decoration.
