- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped maraschino cherries, drained
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- additional powdered sugar for coating
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Add the flour, salt, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Fold in the chopped cherries and walnuts.
- Roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Roll the warm cookies in additional powdered sugar.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.
