- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix until well combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in a greased baking pan.
- In a small bowl, mix together sugar and cinnamon.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until lightly golden.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

- For extra flavor, add nuts or chocolate chips.
