Ingredients

  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons meringue powder
  • 6 tablespoons warm water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add egg and extracts, mix well.
  5. Gradually add flour mixture, stir until combined.
  6. Roll dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Cut shapes with cookie cutters and place on baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool completely before icing.
  10. For royal icing, beat powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water until stiff peaks form.
  11. Decorate cookies as desired with royal icing.
