Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons meringue powder
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Food coloring (various colors)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add egg and vanilla to the butter mixture.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture.
  6. Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
  7. Roll out the dough and cut into dinosaur shapes.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden.
  9. Let cookies cool completely.
  10. In a bowl, combine powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water to make royal icing.
  11. Add food coloring to the icing as desired.
  12. Decorate cooled cookies with royal icing.
