Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup sugar for filling
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened for filling
- 1 cup powdered sugar for frosting
- 2 tablespoons milk for frosting
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Mix flour, brown sugar, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture and combine.
- Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Knead until smooth.
- Let dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter on top.
- Mix sugar, cinnamon, and ginger for the filling. Sprinkle it over the buttered dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for frosting. Drizzle over warm rolls.
