Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- Royal icing for decoration
- Assorted candies for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add molasses and egg, mix until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Chill the dough for at least 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes for the house.
- Bake the pieces for 10-12 minutes until firm.
- Let cool completely before assembling.
- Use royal icing to glue the pieces together and decorate with candies.
