Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into Hello Kitty shapes.
  7. Place cookies on baking sheets and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Let cookies cool completely before decorating with royal icing.
