Peppermint thumbprint cookies are a festive treat filled with minty goodness.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup peppermint chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add flour, salt, vanilla, and peppermint extract; mix until combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Form dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet.
- Make an indentation in the center of each ball.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool, then dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- For added flavor, use crushed peppermint candies as a topping.
- Can substitute chocolate chips with white chocolate for a different taste.
