Description
A classic recipe for thumbprint cookies filled with jam.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup ground almonds
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fruit jam (any flavor)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add the flour, ground almonds, and salt. Mix until combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Make an indentation in the center of each ball with your thumb.
- Fill each indentation with a small amount of fruit jam.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Use your favorite jam for filling.
- You can substitute ground almonds with ground walnuts or pecans.
